Just came across this one. Wonder what the reserve is. Appears in pretty good shape. It`s been repainted from the looks of it and has some rust coming back through. No pics of the underside which makes you a little suspicious.1978 Plymouth Other Street Kit Car | eBay

Not my kind of F, but looks good and the price seems right. Doesn't look like it would take much to get it in prime shape.

A pretend race car, I'd be embarrassed to drive it.

Yes sir, I prefer the finished street car look of the Super Coupe but if you wanted that NASCAR appearance from the factory that was it.

I'm glad somebody was but I hate to tell you that disco sucks, by 79 the local disco was a country bar.

I was there too. For the most part, it was a pretty good time! Today, with everyone so afraid of being different and driving only black, white and silver lookalike SUV mobile pods, of course this Kit Car would be extraordinary. But even back in the '70's, this would have been really obvious. I don't dislike it, it's very interesting, but it's not something that I would have wanted much then or now.

In 1978, this was the car everybody wanted. A black "Smokey and the Bandit" Trans Am. Kit cars just weren't all that popular. Not much of a selection from Ma Mopar in those days. If you REALLY wanted a fast Mopar, I think the 360 V8 Little Red Express Truck was the quickest back then.

Me too! Times I`ll never forget. BTW, my friend had a black 78 Trans Am. It was a girl magnet for sure.

According to magazine road tests at the time this was faster than that but the Little Red Express truck was the fastest of them all. *the magazine ad isn't real.

That kit car runs a 15.9 stock with single exhaust and 321 gears. They sold for $5800 new. I'll take one!
