Are you referring to FMJ’s or older?

Two and a half years ago, I took a 600 mile (965 km) trip in my ’77 wagon from Oklahoma City, OK to Waco, TX and back, stopping close by Dallas to have breakfast with forum member JustWondering and get a few photos.

So far, driving through Belgium. And now staying at a camp close to Luxembourg capital city. The slant has to get working now on these roads. But driving in company with a '70 MB 408 (6k lbs with 2.3L I4) van, we have to take it easy on steep hills. But that take us to see the landscape better.

OY doesn't go very far anymore, but I did drive it home to Pennsylvania from Pueblo Colorado where I bought it. A friend and I flew out to pick it up and drive it back home. It was risky because I didn't really know the car at all, but it was fun too. I really didn't have any trouble with it other than a loose brake caliper which I fixed in a parking lot. I guess it was about a 2500 mile trip total. The weekend after we got home, I entered it in the Survivor Tent section of Chryslers at Carlisle.

A few years ago, my wife and I went from southern Wisconsin, to Dukes of Hazzard country; Kentucky, Tennessee, and North Carolina. A great trip, Grand Ole Opry, sightseeing, and backroads .
Thumbs up from locals, kids hollering, “Do a burn out ! “ (impossible with 2:40 gears). A black on black car with no A/C
In 90 degree weather can be a bit-much at times though, especially when the wife’s ‘Aunt Flo’ is along for the ride. About 1800 miles, no problems. 318 4bbl, with Lean Burn intact. I bought the car New in June, 1979.

I just did over 2500 miles in a week. Went all down the east coast and back through the blue ridge mountains. Unfortunately google maps doesn't let you add more than 10 stops on a trip so there's some stuff missing here.

Not a FMJ but a late B body. We took Goldie on an adventure earlier in July. Started at Chrysler’s at Carlisle where she took 3rd place in her class, and then went to the Smokies for a week with the Rapid Transit Tour. Just over 2,000 miles in 10 days. Had a blast on the mountain roads and the Tail of the Dragon.

Holy smokes I'm jealous...with the way I've got the 5A built right now I'd need a Texaco truck to follow me. Probably getting single digits even with the OD and 3.54 gears.

I've really been kicking around building a wagon for road trips. I would have to sell my grandfather's old F-150 though...

Maybe you could swap an other gear in the 5A for the road trip. But planning for road trip is a good target for building up a car. Or maybe build up your F-150 for long distance? Fitted with the 300 I6?

Yesterday had to drive to home from Luxembourg due to illness of my grand dad. Meanwhile, things are going well again.
Total we drove 1000 km ish (620 miles). Worked on the car past year, it does not have the beauty price, but bugged out a couple of mechanical an other issues. Seems stable to run on long trip back on German highway in evening too. Running stronger on LPG than petrol on hills.
It was a nice ride.

In the early summer of 93 I bought a new T bird, I picked it up on Saturday and the next Wednesday I left for Florida with 200 miles on the clock. 23 hours later I was at dads house with 1800 miles on the car, I had an oil change done at the local Ford dealership. I wondered around north Florida for little more than a week and then came home. The T bird had 4000 miles on it before it was two weeks old. The car got 28 mpg on the first tank and 32 on the last, I'd guess it was broken in by the time i got home.:)

I traded the car at ten months old with 24,000 miles on it after a trip to South Dakota.

I would have left the day I bought it but I had to wait for the new wheels to get in on Tuesday so I could have them installed.

My Gran Fury is my only car so she gets driven everywhere. Most recent trip was to Tuscaloosa Alabama from here in Daytona Beach 1,240 miles total, she's been on many other trips too including driving from Naugatuck CT to here in Daytona Beach (I forget how many miles that was)
