I recently installed a silver faced light switch and police speedo in the car.
If anyone has a silver faced climate control and charge/temp/dummy light cluster, I’m looking for them.
I have a gold face gauge cluster and black face climate control if anyone is interested in a trade of sorts. The defroster button is pretty heavily used; mid west problems.

I don't think they're intentionally gold they usually get that way from smokers or some sort of chemical change. You might be able clean them back to silver.

Didn’t know smoke stains were reflective, shiny and only occurred on the middle disk on the gauges that, themselves are behind a clear plastic cover (with the cover being un-stained in anyway) but, I’ll look into it.

Well, I’ll be dipped. A little windex cleaned them right up.

Plastic outgassing and UV and who knows what else can do some strange things over the years.

Well that's why I said smokers or some sort of chemical change :)

Not sure what it was. Looking at it up close, it was perfectly uniform and almost looked like microscopic amber droplets. Wasn’t sticky at all, wouldn’t smudge or wipe off dry but, windex melted it right off.

@brotherGood, I’ll get ahold of you about that climate controller.

Why were some climate controls silver and some black? was it a model-year dependent reason? I've seen both in all different years, but someone could have changed them up...

5th avenues had silver until the changes for 88/89 dodge and Plymouth usually had black.

Be careful with glass cleaner on gauges, it can clean the markings off the dial face. You can probably figure out how I know this.

Absolutely. Works just fine but, no longer matches. You’re welcome to it.
I’ll message you for the shipping details.
