Well got the seats in tonight what a good feeling and thought what the hell I will run to town and get a few gallons of gas since the aspen has not been drove all that much in several months. The vehicle did pretty good except it is not shifting in between gears or it appears this way anyways. Reverse is working good and drive and goes in gear find. I checked the fluid it is only one quart low. The transmission is not slipping but the transmission will not engage out of first gear?. Is there something I am missing guys to look for? Where is the kick down located? Vacuum lines? I have not had the transmission out only a fluid change was done. There is no burning smell either. Can someone shoot me some pictures I have no manual to refer too. Thank You.

I have tried to adjust it. When I headed out the Rpm's were all over the place. I backed the two screws off a little and got the Rpm's down. Did not seem to fix it at all. Something is going on and I have no clue.

This is from my 78 but I'd think it's the same.

The linkage was bent in the middle of the rod. Has been fixed now shifts perfectly. Thanks for the details and feed back guys.
