Related to the "Voyager". No random pic but, way back around '81 or '82, saw an ad on the bulletin board at the now long defunct Hi/Rev speed store. It was one you never forget and wonder what kind of an idiot the seller was.

"For sale, 1973 Camero, 350 with Edilbreck minefult, Miroso valley covers, Hookar hetters"

I remember thinking, seriously????? Could at least spell the name of the car correctly.

1920-1930s Miller v16 start up… they can only start one engine; or they risk slowing the earths rotational speed.

Had never heard of the engines before, thought they were, Cadillac at first. Apparently one of those things where the guy was insanely talented at engineering and machining but, a shit businessman. With a Cummins-Roots type blower, they were 1,113CI and made 1,300hp at 4,000rpm and 1,800hp at 6,000rpm.

That's a Ford thing. I've had 1 turn red before.
So I’ve heard.
He’s not very thrilled to say the least; nor is he mechanically inclined or in the same region as me for me to be helpful. Such is life.

Woah wtf kind of pricing is that?
1500 in labor!? Jesus Christ.

$1500 in parts for a 13 year old truck? Holy heck. I get it that not everyone works on cars. But they can't tell him what he needs to get (charge him an hour of labor for their time) and send him to a junkyard with a parts list?

Wouldn’t make a difference, he’s not going to pull parts at a junk yard. I’ve been telling him for the last 15 years to learn how to work on cars. Never happened. He tried unsuccessfully changing his shocks once. Ended up having the truck towed to a shop to have it finished. Not that it particularly makes it better or worse, but he has the money to spare to have someone else make it their problem…and that’s the price he’ll pay.

That's amazing. We'd probably have that job done for $300.

That does sound high for the job. Regardless, $3,000 on a 13 year old truck vs $60,000 or more for a new truck that will cost WAY more than $3K in repairs by the time it's 13 years old, if it even lasts that long in the first place.

Update: brother text me in the middle of the night, he’s going to go through his insurance and either get it fixed for his deductible or see if they’ll total it out. Trucks been paid off and just barley cracked 100k miles so, he should get a pretty decent chunk of cash if they total it out with current market prices on trucks.

Totaled out and all it needs is a fucking intake and alternator?? If they do this you need to buy it, fix it and flip it.
