Just like last year, only not QUITE as bad, it's the weather that keeps the car inside. Seems like it has to rain, or threaten to rain about every other day for the past 3 months. You never know. It may be perfectly clear and then next thing you know a rain shower comes out of nowhere. Really irritating.

Not far but decided to take a break from my house projects this evening while the paint on the shutters dried (it was like watching paint dry,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,oh wait........:p). Only went maybe 5 or 6 miles but came back all refreshed and ready to screw the shutters back on the house.

BTW, after repainting the shutters I now realize how crappy they looked before. Man what a difference!

Just got the new hoses for the Fifth Avenue yesterday and then spent time getting the auger on the tractor so we could dig two post holes through the road bed.

That two year old automatic gate opener is going in this year so when I can get the car out, I don't have to stop and get out to open the gate - drive thru - get out and shut the gate... blah blah blah

A gate to open and close would be a luxury!
I have to back the Dakota out and park beside the driveway, on the lawn, and I hate that. Then open the back door on the attached garage, open the door on the rear garage, back the car out, get out and close that door. Then,,,,,,,back the car through the 8 ft wide rear door on the attached garage while backing uphill looking in the mirrors and attempting to see out the rear window of a 2 door f-body and 1/4 windows with louvers,,,,,,,,,, through the garage and out the front door which is also only 8ft wide. If I'll be gone a while, get out and close the door on the back of the garage (otherwise I leave it open), get in the car and push the button for the front garage door, back down the driveway and FINALLY onto the street. When I come back, reverse procedure. Still working on the best solution to the problem given the available space and local set back ordinances and building regulations..................

OK, next time pics. Maybe video since I've got the video camera working again.

Justwondering, would a cattle gate work better, or do you need a gate for other reasons?

I first read your note and I saw “got the new hoses for the Fifth Avenue” and then you said “getting the auger on the tractor”, while still thinking about hoses.
I then thought there has to be an easier way to get the hoses off.

I can see that.
Does it help to put up “we are deer hunter hunters” or “deer hunter season here, all 12 months”, maybe?

Unrelated, I saw this somewhere so I swiped the picture.

Man, the miles are piling up on the car :p Last Monday, took it to work again and last evening I got the car out to take advantage of the no rain. Geez, that makes almost 35 miles..............Better be careful or the odometer will roll over to 1,000 pretty soon, lol.

...................and again. Another 25 today to work and back.

Seems funny, one hill I go up in the Dakota on my summer route to work takes so much throttle it downshifts to 2nd gear (35 mph speed limit). In one mile you go from 1,200 feet elev. to 1,650 feet and back to 1,100. It's a really steep hill:eek: The Aspen,,,,,,,,,,push the throttle another 1/8th inch to maintain speed. What a difference!

It was take your old car to work day today I think. Two of the other guys I work with brought theirs as well. '67 LeMans and a '78 Monte Carlo ( with a stroker 383, gear drive, 12:1, etc). Naturally, where was my camera? At home. No pics, didn't happen they say but you'll just have to trust me.
