From the look of it he probably bought it from someone cleaning out a property or a dead family members house.
Maybe it's clean enough to be worth the hassle of getting a title or getting it for parts.
If the car was a decade older I'd say it looks like the ghost of the owner is hovering around in the back

LSM360 -- I so agree.
I had a silver 1977 cordoba sitting out in west texas about 6 years ago and was willing to pull the trigger on it BUT....

1. no title (owner died) .... I'll take it anyway (another week goes by)
2. no keys, but I promise it runs ..... riiight, but i'll take it anyway (another week goes by)
3. one flat tire and no way to get in the trunk (cause keys are missing)
4. no way to get it out of the carport unless you dead drag it -- too much clutter to get a dolly under the front.

No answer for another 3 weeks.
Cousin agrees to go get it ... no answer

I contacted the local sheriff's office there and talked to one of the officers. He said 'Are you coming alone? Cause even the sheriff's office won't go to that area of the county alone.'

Just walked away from it.
