My 88 5th Ave suddenly doesn’t have brake lights the brake light switch tested good and the 3rd brake light still works as well. The blinkers and everything else works in the rear just nothing when the brakes are pressed.
88 fifth Ave brake lights suddenly become inop.

Asuming all the fuses are good. My 1st guess is the wire from the brake light switch to the turn signal switch is broken, most likely right at the signal switch. The 3rd brake light is powered directly from the brake pedal switch, the other lights go through the turn signal switch and then out to the brake lights, since brake and turn use the same bulbs.

I did, jeez I didn’t even remember. Cars been sitting in the lawn with a blown up trans for months so I didn’t really check.
