Wow!
Hats off....
One of the few TRUE Canadian legends.
I used to watch his show faithfully with his sheet of plywood.
Sad news.*
But thankfully, I just happen to have a smokin' collection of Stompin' Tom
Cracking a beer and throwing on some Tom.
God bless Sir..
And thanks for the tunes.

When I was about six I went to Tilsonburg with my uncle
He was looking to get a job in the fields.
He changed his mind.

I watched two of the clips and I have to say that I totally respect the man. Had a talent for music and entertaining as well as a strong love for his country. The one song he sang about fellow country men leaving and coming to the States and he basically says, "We don't need you in Canada if thats how you feel" in essence, didn't offend me in the least.
The US as well as Canada are not perfect, no place is. But they are pretty damn good-

Sorry for your loss, Canada

Thanks 8d5!
It's funny..back when that song was written
I remember my dad working in Boston..
He had to, there was no work here.
I guess that song is a pride thing which some of us still have up here.
Some of us not as much it would seem.
But Tom sang about Canada...all of it.
Sudbury Saturday Night is fairly accurate.
A bunch of Canadian rednecks accurately portrayed by Sir Tom.
Rest in peace Sir.
God bless.
Truly a Canadian Legend.

Stuck In My Head

I watched the Flyers-Penguins game and then the Stars-Kings game.

I now have the Hockey Song stuck in my head.

This is one time I don't mind.

My old neighbor used to book him in the early seventies ( they were country music promoters ) . They would pay him for the performance and so much for the hotel room. He would say just give me the cash for the room and ill sleep in my truck! RIP Stompin Tom. Cant get ketchup loves potatoes out of my head ! this weeks ear worm.
