Hiya Guys,
Sorry it's been a while. Summer is a busy time for me for getting things ready on the Ranchette for the coming winter LOL. Here's a bit of an update on everything since I took my Summer Hiatus.
Made the Trip back to my Parents in Portsmouth Ia, and got the Front Header picked up for the Diplomat. Also found a junkyard that one a stripped header panel for the Fifth Avenue for 50 bucks and reasonable price to ship. Those are still on the To Do list. The Dippy is still purring like a kitten, the 5th, on the To Do list for later.
The 79 Aspen has been sitting pretty much since the hiatus. No Time to fiddle with it right now and me being Glutton for Punishment, and after figuring out how much Hay we are going to need, where to buy it (drought conditions up here) at an affordable price and going into dept again for another 5 yrs for a new tractor (the Old tractor is still fine, just no guarantee on how long it will last) I scraped up enough money to get this, Buy Two more F bodies. I picked one of them up Saturday, it's was quite a haul from our place, 6 hours Drive time to get there, and then 10 hours drive time back because of the Mountain Range we had to cross coming back at 25 MPH up hill with the Mini Van Towing and the Tow Dolly.
I got a hold of a 77 Volare 318 T Tops Car with a PRISTINE Undercarriage. Body Wise it's not to bad. The Vinyl Top (I assume the T-Tops had Vinyl Tops) has been removed, lots of Bondo on that Area. NO GRILLE of Course. Someone put 15 Inch Ford Rims or something on it. Don't care for the Rim style but what the heck right. I got this one thinking of using it for parts for the R/T, Butttttttttt, it's in Damn good Shape. Passenger side T-Top Glass is Cracked though, Will probably pay hell to find another one. Weather Stripping is there, but Barely. And NO Fender tag.
Pic of the 77 Is here.
Also from the same guy, I am picking up a 79 Volare Duster. Looked at it while at his place when we picked up the 77 and HOLY HELL, The body on this Volare Duster is PRISTINE (haven't looked at the underside yet) other than it is missing the Front Drivers Side Fender, but he has a replacement fender for it. Guy came out looking for the "replacement" fender, he couldn't find it to sell him at the time, soooo he pulled the fender off the Volare Duster Instead. Then Found the Other Panel LOL. Forgot to Look at for the Fender tag on the 79, It's a slant Sixer.
Was Looking at both of them for Parts Cars for the R/T, Buttttttt They are just in too good of Shape to use for parts (Volare/Duster is up in the air right now for the frame till I get back there).
