I have a feeling the Charger is what's left of a parts car after he got all the parts he needed for a restoration.
Way back in the very early '80's, a friend of mine had a '69 Barracuda Fastback 383/auto. I loved that car. Funnily enough, he traded a '71 Super Beetle for it, even up. Went from no power (or heat) and 45 mpg to lots of power and 12 mpg, lol. Wonder what ever happened to that car? He sold it when the left front subframe rail rusted out and the upper control arm parted ways with the frame. The car just vanished, never to be seen again. Being a glutten for punishment (in the wallet) he bought a 1970 Olds 98 Custom Cruiser wagon with a 455 and that land yacht averaged 8 mpg on a good day. He never was the sharpest tool in the shed and on a just out of high school budget, buying a gas hog wasn't too bright, but I digress.
