I have a 1984 Gran Fury police car and I'm planning to do a 5.9 magnum swap. I'm working on making some decisions so I can order parts and work on the engine this winter. I'm on the fence about whether to keep the factory air or not.

Are there clearance issues with the AC unit and aftermarket four barrel intakes? If I decide to keep the factory AC is the four barrel intake currently in the car the only option? Hoping someone has had some experience with this.

It used to be Performer was the only intake that worked with 80s factory air because it has the needed offset thermostat housing but some people have said they made custom brackets to make it work. I don't know of there are other intakes now that work with it.

The performer and the torker 2 are the ones that work without mods on the factory a/c setup.

This won't be for everyone but I did a cut and splice with a torquer ll and a performer rpm. My intention was to maintain a stock appearance.
