figured i better start a thread on my aspen wagon transformation to Hemi RT
a rust free car with a slant 6 .

Starting with a rust free 80 aspen wagon

then building a 354 Hemi engine
parts 331 block bored 125thou.over stock to fit 354 pistons
Molina forged H beam rods
Isky 280 grind Hemi cam and lifters
Egge pistons 9.8:1 compression ratio
premium gaskets
340 oil pump
high grade chrome ring set
reground crank 10 20 under
318 double roller timing set
rebuilt heads and rocker assemblies and a fresh coat of hemi orange paint
wieand daul quad intake with 600cfm carter afb's
ignition via procomp dist with hei electrics
big block Chevy water pump with adapters from Hot Heads

once the engine was done started to collect the parts needed to install it
parts 1 set of schumacker engine conversion mounts for 318 to slant 6 conversion mounts
home made trans adapter to bolt the A904 to the engine
a set of 392 exhaust manifolds
and a center sump oil pan
25 1/2 x 19 daul row aluminium rad
20x20 trans cooler


with all the parts collected it was time to remove the slant 6

Now that the 6 was removed I had to remove the power steering box and the brake booster to make room for the Hemi Installed an early manual steering box and have my master for manual brakes on order then I installed the engine for a test fit finding it to far back in the chassis

with the engine in place I found it was to far back and to low in the chassis so I pulled it back out and
raised the chassis engine mounts up 3/4 of and inch and then made spacers tp move the engine mounts back 3/4 of an inch on the block and put it back in again and got a perfect fit

in the above pics you can see where i raised the mount hole using 1/4 in thick washers welded to the old mount slots

nothing looks meaner under the hood than a hemi

Can the front suspension support that much weight?


believe it or not but the car sits higher now than it did with the six and I'im not joking i may have to lower the bars to get it where i want it

here is the latest pics installed the dizzy and wired the plugs installed the fuel block and coil wire installed the fan controll and fuel pump relay and wired in the pump and attached the fuel lines throttle cable passing gear rod next is the master cylinder exhaust and drive shaft gettin there
