Hi everyone,

My j body Cordoba has seen a bit of sun so the upholstery is faded in parts and tears easy, I have always like the m body fifth ave leather interiors. Does anyone know if the front and back seats out of a m body 5th ave will bolt into a j body Cordoba?

Thanks
Bruce

Pretty hard to find, but J-Bodies did have leather options, as well. You might find an Imperial with Mark Cross leather. That would be the easiest to bolt in.

There have been both Cordobas and Miradas with leather interiors posted here and on eBay. The factory sales brochures list leather as an option for both cars, in different seat options (leater buckets or split bench).

Whether you decide to go with the M body interior or not, are you certain that it wouldn't be easier, and perhaps substantially cheaper, to re-cover the current seats with leather? Any factory leather that you get, whether it be M body or J body, is still going to be 30+ years of age, and unless it has been meticulously looked after, is probably faded, perhaps cracked, and most definitely dried out. I don't know what the costs to have seats re-covered in leather would be in NZ, but it may be something to look at, vs. the time and cost of finding a leather interior (of the correct color) and then having it shipped to NZ, with the added potential for problems as per above.

Just throwing some ideas out there.

Will M body 5th ave seats not fold, most seats have a recline function that lets it bend a we bit, maybe not as much but maybe enough to get in and out of. The drivers seats in my Cordoba only bends forward but the passenger slides forward and bends.

Seats from a the 4-Door M-Bodied cars don't fold forward at all. To get in the back seat, you'd have to slide the seat all the way forward, and even then, it would be difficult. The suggestion above to get your seats recovered seems like a good one in light of your geography.

I don't have pictures of the inside, but here's a Cordoba I owned that had leather 60/40s. It's the only LS I've seen outfitted this way:
