Morning, has anybody changed out their stock 85 mph speedo in their doba or mirada for a 120 mph? if so what car did you get it out of or what aftermarket gauge fits in place of stock without cutting up the dash? Thanks in advance

Your car doesn't use the Diplomat/Fifth Avenue cluster does it?

The first place I would look would be a police R-body; certified up to 125 mph. These were produced for three years: 1979-1981. The models were Chrysler Newport, Dodge St. Regis and Plymouth Gran Fury. Here is an '81 Newport (non-police):

A police package R body speedo cluster is the closest thing to a unicorn that I can think of.

True. You have a better chance of finding a whole A38 R body for sale than just a speedometer.

Surprisingly an E-body speedometer bolts right in. I found an original but I think they're reproduced now. I also installed the matching tach but that requires some cutting and splicing of the circuit board.

I should mention that it needs to be the later version. The earlier version doesn't have the odometer reset button going through the gauge face like the J-body.
