I bought 2 high back style "bucket seats" for my 79 Aspen 2 Dr. Upon removal of the OEM bench seat I found that the floor pans on both sides are not the same height. Apparently the mounting for the OE bench had corrected for this with only outside mounting points. I believe I can make the corrections by fabricating some brackets/spacers ; maybe square box tubing. Thought I'd ask first. Anyone else tried this ?

That's the hump for the catalytic converter that makes them different. If your seats came with brackets they should work unless the brackets are off a different year

The seats aren't OE, just have slide adjusters and tilt hinges. Bottoms appear to be flat and intended for a uniform, flat floor panel. Thinking maybe 1 1/4 " box tubing to make leveling brackets.

Any other relevant information? Seems like the first question left a bunch of stuff out. I don't want to go on a guessing game here.

I put race buckets in my Volare, the LT or driver side is like any other mopar but the RT floor pan is significant higher nere the LT seat mount for the RT seat, your approach to remedy this problem will need to start by identifying the correct height of the Lt track on the passenger seat. You will need to get the seat height so you can get the slider under the seat and then make a bracket for bolting it to the floor. On my Plymouth I didn’t have room for the slider and just made a bracket to bolt the seat to the floor but the Rt seat sets the height for both sides.

Have done the measurements as you described and I agree that the Rt seat will determine the installed height. If my measurements are correct I believe I'll need 3 brackets at 2 1/2 " height to level everything and have the same height from L/F to R/F. Thank you for the input !

I have a set of factory bucket seat mounts that will fit your year. But you seem to have everything well in hand and you won't need them.

Thankyou for the consideration and I'll let you know if and how this all comes out. I think I have a viable plan of attack , but I guess we'll soon see. Again thanks for the help !!

Okay gentlemen , as promised here's the solution. 1&1/4 box tubing available at "Home Depot" , 1&1/4 square furniture leg finishers available at any hardware store as well as plain old 5/16 " nuts and bolts to hold it all together. 1 bracket stacked for the passenger side to allow for the floor hump and 2 stacked brackets to correct for seat height on the drivers side seat. Thankyou all for your advice !!
