what are your plans for your stroker W2?...
I'm thinking that combo of yours should definitely meet your goals...maybe a tad more even?
For me this is about adding a little more "oomph" on the low end (for street manners: throttle response & off-idle pull) while keeping a bit of the top-end power.
So the plans are:
360" block fitted with 4" forged crank, H-beam rods, 408"
long valve econo W2, thinking I can toss a 2.05" intake and let the cam's wider LSA help with the low end duties
Cam is a Comp Cams hydraulic roller:
CRS 13084B/3039B HR 112+4, 0.548/0.545, 240/248@0.050", 290/300 adv. and on 112 LSA
That cam needs 3000 stall, 4.10 gear and 10:1 compression, which should be good-to-go for my current combo (I have too much stall actually, but that moves the car out of the hole well) which is 4k stall and 4.10 gears.
Intake same as yours, but looking to do a 10.5 static CR. Carb is my trusty Carter TQ 9800 series (electric choke).
Since the W2 heads I have are original still-in-box pieces I need to get them re-worked for 11/32 stem valves and maybe a decent valve job while I'm at it...which is why I'm thinking of going down the 2.05" intake route. Will do some mild porting at home (before & after flow numbers), at least they should beat my heavily worked over 596 castings.
Performance wise I'd like to be in low 12s with this setup. My best with the 360 motor and Hughes HE3844AL hydralic flat tappet is 13.13@105 but a 3.91 gear and same 4k converster. No traction...suspension is not setup at all for traction purposes, so that's part of a reason why I'm not too hopeful about seeing anything faster than low 12's.
