I know its Possible to make A or B bodyk member work with some fabrication but is it worth it? I can't find any way to get away from the tortion bars for a nice coil over set up

Converting to rack and pinion with a strut frontend with an aftermarket kit might be a better choice.
Yeah, FMJ front suspension isn't exactly well-suited to handling, but solidly mounting your K-frame with iron or aluminum mounts is a big help as is being good friends with your alignment guy. Set up for autocross, though, you'll regularly murder front tires in normal street use.
