Hi everyone,

My wipers stopped yesterday, the nylon thing on the end of the wiper motor broke, does anyone know where I can get a replacement?

A quick search on eBay didn't reveal one but not quite sure what it's called.

Does anyone have a diagram of how the bars connect the wipers, I have managed to knock them off and as I can't see much I can't work out how they connect back up, sigh.

Can't help you with a diagram or photo. My car doesn't have the big nylon piece, only the small ones, same as used where the links hook to the wiper pivots.

The links get pressed onto the wiper pivot "pegs". Chances are you may need new bushings there also, and they are available. If at all possible, get them from a Chrysler dealer. The Dorman aftermarket ones are pretty much crap (Made in China), but will work if it's all you can get.

It's easier to remove the pivots from the car and assemble it all on the bench and then thread it back in the opening. Trying to reattach the links inside the cowl is about impossible unless you have fingers of steel and bionic tendons.:p

The bell crank only goes on the motor one way and should point to the drivers side of the car in the park position. The short link goes to the drivers wiper pivot and the long one goes back across to the passenger pivot.
Make sure the motor is in the park position when putting the wiper arms/blades back on. I honestly don't know how the big nylon bushing goes together, as I said, my car doesn't have it and I've never seen one in person, sorry.

I have go the pivots turning freely now, they were tight and lumpy before, I also bought a new wiper motor a couple years back, I hooked up just sitting on top of air cleaner, I noticed that the old wiper motor is a bit sluggish compared to the new one so I will put the new one in, so when the bushes and crank thingy arrive I will have a pretty good wiper system!

Parts are making progress to NZ, still in USA at the moment. Its winter here, kind of need wipers working :)

Good deal. It always seems strange when you say it's winter. I have to remember, you're in the southern hemisphere.:D

Yeah man! I am way down! not much further south than NZ, but NZ roads are graced by the presents of my beautiful J.

BTW - I heard an interesting stat, NZ is in love with USA cars, I think there are more old USA cars on the road in NZ than in California!! I see Chargers, Challengers, Darts, My friend has a right hand drive dart and a 440 cuda, lot of mustangs notch and fast backs, corvettes, camaros etc!

Saw this cruising around last winter and snapped a pic, a bit over the top for me! But hey its here!!

Hahaha cuts on hands lol they are going away now but I had a few! I am going to vaccum out the wiper cavity, blow out with compressed air and then brush on some rust converter in there before I put wipers back in.
