1979 Dodge Aspen Dealer Sales Brochure

I bought that identical hood scoop off of either an A-body or a Super Coupe, I don't remember (1980-81). I definitely remember buying the screw on fenderwell flares and spoiler off a Super Coupe. I never put them on my 79 R/T

    A-body 8 3/4 rear end swap into F-body

I'm glad I found it, and it went into my 79 Aspen so easily. I had less than 2 weeks from the time the factory 8.25 broke and we were due to be in St Louis at the 3 Mopar clubs meet. The first car we saw the first day of the show was a 70 Coronet R/T in bronze metallic, white convertible top and...

1979 Dodge Aspen Dealer Sales Brochure

I special ordered my 79 black and gold strobe striped R/T. Radio delete! Console w/black buckets. I should have got the optional 3.23 gear, but at least it was a SureGrip. E 58 police 360. I wanted T-tops, but my parents overruled me on that one. Later I got a used 78 Aspen R/T with T-tops.

    A-body 8 3/4 rear end swap into F-body

When they were new, I used to see a LOT of Dodge Daytona z cars...now I hardly EVER see them. I saw a couple at the Mopar Nationals in Columbus OH this year, and I have seen a couple tube chassis ones at the track, but I don't see any at car shows, same for the Shelby Chargers. Did they have...

    A-body 8 3/4 rear end swap into F-body

Lol. Are you saying that something bad should have happened? I find it hard to believe, or I just was incredibly lucky, to have: 1: found a 73 Dart Sport 4 speed that had a 340 (vs a 360) in it...I know 73s had both, early in 73 they had 340s, later in 73 they had 360 2: the one that I found had...

    A-body 8 3/4 rear end swap into F-body

Well, this additional tid bit will bring some more comments I'm sure: When we drove my car to St.Louis, I put the Centerlines from my buddy's 70 Roadrunner on my car, and that was after the rear end swap....so I'm sure that I had the aluminum R/T factory wheels on my car. I also had tried out...

    A-body 8 3/4 rear end swap into F-body

Maybe it was a 72, I will check with my buddy who helped me out. It was a great, easy, cheap swap that allowed me to drive from Louisiana to St. Louis and back. The St. Louis event in 82 was 3 Chrysler car clubs all meeting at the same time: The National Street Hemi Owners Association, The Mopar...

    A-body 8 3/4 rear end swap into F-body

I am absolutely certain that the 73 340 4 speed Dodge Dart 8 3/4 went in to my 79 Aspen R/T because I removed the 8.25 assembly, removed the 8 3/4 from the A body Dart, and installed it in my Aspen all myself, maybe with a little lifting help. I was especially happy that the spring perch pins...

    A-body 8 3/4 rear end swap into F-body

I had a new 79 Aspen R/T E58 police 360 back in 79, 8.25 2.72 gear SureGrip. My 8.25 axle was damaged when I slid into a curb. I bought a 73 340 4 speed Dart from a junkyard and swapped in the 8 3/4 rear end from the Dart into the Aspen. Everything swapped over as an assembly, even the pins on...

    Introducing New Member: biomedtechguy

    I had a 71 Charger R/T in 78 at 16 yrs old and got a brand new 79 Aspen R/T E58 police 360 powered F-body in 79. I am active on the B-bodies Only forum as now I have a 70 V code Roadrunner with a 71 440 6bbl 4 speed and 3.54 Dana 60. I just posted there about a rear end swap I did "back in the...
