I put a 360 4 bbl 360 on my Mirada, had to lengthen the kick down by measuring the stock distance between the carb and the stock 2bbl mount, then welded a 3/8 dia. rod to lengthen it and ground the welds to help look stock. I used the 360 kick down mount plus modified the stock 2 bbl cable...
I didn't have the block zero decked, so the Keith Back pistons were
still .008 from the deck. No complaints though. The power difference
from the stock configuration was substantial.
I went 20 over and used Keith Black pistons, moved the ratio to 9.1:1.
I also used 360 truck heads from an 84 360, I had to shave them .040
to get them down to 67 cc chambers and have the stock 360 4bbl manifold
cut .040 as well to match. So it has a 360 top end. The hp #s I ran on my
desktop...
I recently rebuilt the 318 in my 1980 Mirada, the heads cc'd @ 67cc per chamber, the factory manual says my engine was suppose to be 8.5:1
static comp. but when I ran the numbers and it was really only 7:1.
casting # 4027593
So I wouldn't trust what the comp ratio is by the book.
The motors...
The center is bent, and it wobbles, I was told it couldn't be straightened by a local tire shop, but I don't know.
Have you ever heard of one of these rims being straightened that is bent this way?
I'm looking for a replacement factory aluminum rim for my 1980 Dodge Mirada.
I purchased the car last year ago it has a bent rim on the back. I really like the factory
rims on it and would like to find 1 or 2 if someone has them for sale. Thanks
