    if your worried about the crack, get it welded then sleeve it.

    My only concern would be price. If a machine shop says all it needs is a sleeve, then I wouldn't worry about it.

    Even with the crack that goes from the hole to the bottom of the cylinder? Do you think that would need more work than just the sleeve?
