I love the M body platform. Drove an 80 for years. There is a bunch of stuff you can delete if you don't have emissions to worry about.
get rid of the lean burn ignition is a good start. I believe there was an air pump and multiple cats too. If you want to stick with the 2 barrel see if...
Depending on what you want to learn there are a lot of us on here that can help you figure it out. That being said, first thing I always do on these cars (this is just me) is get an MSD 6a and better coil (Blaster 2 is fine, I have taken to using the ecoil from Pertronix) and loose the ballast...
I have seen a bunch of suggestion on this thread. But I have not seen anyone suggest adjusting the linkage at the tranny. With throttle at WOT the kick down lever should be all the way back. This is should be adjustable without having to redesign the whole system. If want me to I can try to...

So far so good. Hard to beat the price and it is 3 core.
The 1406 will work. More initial timing is good. On factory stuff we would set initial as high as we could till it fought to start. (Too far advanced) then backed it off 2 degrees. Make sure that all in (4k - 6500 RPM) you do not exceed 36 degrees total timing.
There is a limited pump shot on...
Hi all,
Ordered this on Amazon: Grant 846 Classic Series Nostalgia 15 inch Black Foam Grip 3-Spoke Design with Horn Button Steering Wheel.
1. It is drilled to move over the horn ring from the original Tuff wheel. In my case it lined up and mounted correctly.
2. The mounting holes from wheel...
If you think you have an ignition issue buy a non lean burn distributor and slap it in there. It will work on the 360 too. Disconnect the lean burn and set the timing at 10 degrees BTDC.
Shouldn't take more then an hour to do. That will eliminate the ignition as the problem if it still...
Do you have emissions testing there? If not, pull the cats and get a dual exhaust setup. You could also pull the air pump which are notorious for seizing up.
Pull that cap off and make sure the rotor is still good. I have had a couple times where a new rotor did not get the metal fire part clamped fully and you could move it with your finger. It will cause a problem.
Does it sound like it is trying to start? Grab a spark plug and pull number 1...
