Another long over due update. Was able to pull the rear and install my freshly rebuilt 8.8 out of a mustang, Calvert rear shocks and replaced all the spring bushings/deleted the iso set up. Will do another thread detailing the install of the 8.8 once I get over this dang cold. But here’s...

    Mustang 8.8 in a m body

Ik the thread has been dead for awhile now but I’m currently in the process of doing this swap and am running Mancini b body shock plates and have a question about the locating pins. reusing the fmj iso center pin “spacer”? Causes a gap underneath my shock plate that I can’t find any mention...

Sorry for the lack of progress guys life’s been getting in my way buut I did find time to sneak away and bring home something quite special or to me it is lol. 1951 Chrysler 331 firepower for a steal with all kinds of extras that spins freely. I have no idea what I’m going to do with it but I...

Awesome thanks for the reassurance I did mount the trans and trans mount to be safe and looks like we are good to go. Just gotta get ahold of brewers and see what clutch fork I need. I was planning on tuning a big block a body zbar but not sure if it’s going to work. But will hopefully make more...

These are Schumacher sb to big block conversion mounts with instructions followed to the letter. I just didn’t know how much offset was normal. I don’t remember the 318 sitting off as much but it could be in my head. because bellhousing seems to fit the tunnel fine and I wasn’t fighting...

Am I just over thinking it or is it crooked? it’s level but seems like the front and rear isn’t square. Engine in mounts, brackets not tighten and trans and trans mount in. idk if it’s me being paranoid or if I should try to modify the mounts I’ll tighten everything in the morning n see if it...

    My 1978 lebaron

Man being the family mechanic really takes up more time then I care to admit but now that we have time. An update on the car. After 7 no 8 attempts the engine is in. Maybe it’s my adhd or I was just overzealous but shumachers instructions wasn’t much help. But finally got everything trimmed...

Alright guys need some insight. Installed a set of f bodys pedals from brewers. Got them mocked up but noticed my clutch linkage is hitting this electronic “box” attached to the steering column. looks to have a rod connected to my ignition cylinder? Any ideas on this or solutions is it...

    My 1978 lebaron

Alright guys I’m hoping to put the 400 in the car this weekend but trying to make sure everything goes smoothly as possible. Before I go ahead and try swinging it in. Any tips or tricks for shoehorning a big block in. What I’m aware of 1. I have to trim the lip on the back of the k member for...

After doing some digging I think the best answer is what a memeber “Buck Atwater” did with his Mirada and build a bracket for for the car I’ll probably “over” build the bracket and sandwich the pinched metal between a inner and outer plate.

Thanks that helps. I wonder if that’s available or what I can use. I’ll have to dig in my a body stuff and see if I have one I could modify enough to work

    My 1978 lebaron

I have a big block a body z bar and a random mopar swap meet z bar that I can cut up/modify. I was under the impression that a body clutch parts work with f and m bodys? I’m not against a hydraulic clutch other than the added cost to convert and I personally prefer the feel of a mechanical...

    My 1978 lebaron

Been slowly making some progress. Got my seat mocked up and passenger floor pan patched almost finished up. Working on moving to modifying the k member for the Schumacher swap brackets and trying to prepare for stuffing the 400 in soon. But that got me thinking. Before I go and have the engine...
