No high beam, no "click" when pulling turn signal

I am making a push to get the Imperial on the road this summer.

Thus I went to checking the lights for the eventual safety inspection just as soon as I get it registered and put the plates on it.

I discovered that the high beams don't work... and the multi function switch does not make that click noise.

Does that imply that the switch or cam in (or what ever it is inside the steering column) is gummed up? Can they be cleaned with electronics cleaner and revitalized?

I initially looked on Rock auto for a replacement and found NO listing for Tilt wheel AND turn signal illumination lights... Which brings up the question: if the switch is bad, can it be rebuilt?

ALSO the blinkers work fine on the left side of the car but are very slow on the right... could that be the multifunction switch as well? I have experienced fast blinkers as a burned out bub... and no blink as the flasher itself.. My limited experience does not connect any ideas with "slow flash"

Any and all suggestions welcome.

The headlamp dimmer is a separate switch, actuated by a rod. It's attached to the steering column.

Slow flashers in one direction COULD be caused by high resistance, either in the wiring, a socket, or even a faulty or incorrect bulb.

Obviously I don't know how the whole steering column switches work.. but I appreciate your guidance, and will begin to investigate further using your suggestions.

The rod had somehow fallen off the multifunction switch at the top of the column. The switch itself appears to be in good shape.

It looks like I will need to remove the steering wheel to get it all back together. That is probably ok, because the steering wheel is cracked and I will attempt to do some repair work. (JB weld for plastics)

Also the slow flasher was indeed high resistance, and turned out to be a rear bulb.. so an easy fix for both.

In the future should anyone have issues with the High beam switch: I would recommend accessing the switch via removing the lower kick panel, and the half moon shaped cover on the steering column.

The high beam switch is next to the steering column 18 inches below the multifunction switch! Stay away from the multifunction switch if possible, and you will have an easier time in reassembly.
