So... I'm having a Merry Christmas.....

I know this isn't the same animal but wayyyy back in the day, I had a '72 Olds that was running very erratic. I picked up replacement ignition parts and when I was getting ready to replace the points, I bumped the distributor shaft. It moved a lot! It had a lot of side to side movement! I was...

    Edelbrock 1406 Carb Rebuild

Thanks for your input Al and Elle! I already picked up a used 1406 but will continue with the rebuild on the first one as per Elle's advice. My brother gave me the same advice. I will eventually rebuild the second one as a back-up. I'll let you know how things work out.

    Edelbrock 1406 Carb Rebuild

I'm working on a 1406 I took off my '79 300 parts car. One of the floats had fuel in it. I ended up buying the floats separately. They didn't come with the Edelbrock rebuild kit I got from O'Reilly's. Both of my primary jets were seized and the screw driver slot stripped out. The secondaries...

Float in Edelbrock 1406 filled with gas, caused flooding

I'm working on a 1406 I took off my '79 300 parts car. One of the floats had fuel in it. I ended up buying the floats separately. They didn't come with the Edelbrock rebuild kit I got from O'Reilly's. Both of my primary jets were seized and the screw driver slot stripped out. The secondaries...

    Holley Spread Bore Quadrajet?

While on the subject of carbs, I'm in the process of rebuilding a Edelbrock 1406 when I discovered gas coming out of one of the floats. It's not leaking at the soldered joint line. It's leaking out of a pitted area on the corner of the float. Can anyone tell me if an Edelbrock 1469 float work in...

    FMJ Differentials

I'm a little late to the party but I was curious if ZieglerSpeed ever got his pinion bolt out from about 5 years ago!! LOL!! Actually I was reading about the rear end swaps and I was curious why I never hear anything about the Mopar 9 1/4". I found this interesting piece in Hemmings Motor News...

    Nose swaps

The 2 things that I dislike the most about my '79 LeBaron is the front end and the Landau roof! The turn signal lights above the headlights reminds me of Grizwald's car in the "Vacation" movie and the front bumper looks like it belongs on a pickup truck! Just day dreamin' I pictured a '70 'Cuda...

    Weatherstripping source?

Howdy gang! I bought some roof rail seals a while back (over 5 years ago) for my '79 2 door LeBaron. I haven't installed them yet because I wanted to wait until I get the car painted so I can't speak to the quality. The seals are still in their sealed packaging and are still very soft. The...

    Gauge Panel Bulb Suggestions Wanted

Looking at that last picture from left to right, the first bulb fits into the orange wire socket and then fits into the metal tube(s) on the back of the headlight switch and the back of the wiper switch. That bulb is generic, purchased in a 20 pack from TEMU for less than $3, 12V WHITE LED LIGHT...

    Gauge Panel Bulb Suggestions Wanted

Here's some pics. The sockets that I had trouble with LEDs blowin' fuses have an orange wire connected to them. The new "cheapies" I got from Temu fit and they work. They're not quite as bright as the others but they do work and honestly, I'm tired of screwin' with it!!

    Gauge Panel Bulb Suggestions Wanted

I'll post a pic of the new LED bulb that works and fits into the metal tubes on the switch housings. I've put the switches back in but the screws are loose so it takes nothing to drop them back out and take some pics.

    Gauge Panel Bulb Suggestions Wanted

The pig tailed sockets that I got would've worked fine if I was to cut off the metal tubes and make sure the hole that was left was 1/2" diameter. The rubber sockets fit like a rubber grommet. However, I got the new bulbs from Temu and did not have to modify the switch housings.

    Gauge Panel Bulb Suggestions Wanted

I got a 3rd but different style of bulb from Temu and it works in the plastic socket and fits into the metal tubes. There are 3 plastic sockets that fit into metal tubes. the headlight "title" lamp, the windshield wiper "title" lamp and the ashtray illumination lamp. I don't smoke and I don't...

    Gauge Panel Bulb Suggestions Wanted

Why does the fuse only blow with the newer (far right) LED but not the other LED (center)? when I'm saying far right and center I'm referring to first pics of the 3 different lights.

    Gauge Panel Bulb Suggestions Wanted

So the white LED (center) seems to work fine in all of the 194 sockets. The problem is that style's diameter is to big to fit into the metal tubular opening on the back of the headlight, wiper and possibly the ash tray light. This caused me to buy a different LED with a smaller diameter to fit...
