Well, after 7 weekends of tweaking and unrigging, I finally got out to my first Cars and Coffee cruise in this morning. I had the car purring, but had to screw with it, thinking I could get it better. It ran like Ass this morning. Got it squared away this afternoon, but it looks like I’m going...

I rebuilt the brakes last week, and got to pull all 4 wheels. Funny thing. I’ve got 3 non-slotted wheels and 1 slotted. And you are quite correct. The no slot wheel does have a wider lip around the edge!

To be fair, it does now have historic tags. That was the tag from my 2011 Genesis. Slapped it on the Lebaron just to take a couple short rides when I first got it. I’m in Hagerstown, MD. Not a native, but this is where I find myself these days.

I usually find them tucked under the rear seat springs. In the Lebaron, I found one between the thick trunk insulation and the carpet. It’s not uncommon to find more than one, as they were sometimes buried during one part or another of assembly.

    Frame Ties 101

Well, I have no intent on going that crazy! Just don't want to launch the car from a dead stop and wave goodbye to an impossible to replace glass T-Top! I had a 78 Chevy Monza that developed a pretty bad body crease just above the hatchback from the torque, so I'm a little nervous about it.

    Frame Ties 101

Awesome information here, thank you all! I'd like to expand the conversation a little. Subframe connectors are something I want to do regardless, just for the integrity of the car. But I have a 79 Lebaron 2 dr with T-Tops. I'm entertaining building a 360 stroker with a beefed 904 trans and...

It’s been a great “getting to know you” day. Fuel pump replaced, all fuel lines replaced, a mile of BS Emissions hoses cleaned up, A/C resealed and recharged, rear brakes adjusted, and several bush league repairs fixed. Time for her first shakedown cruise tomorrow!!

You’re right about the aluminum wheels, I had forgotten about that! My 78 Charger had the slotted ones. The ones on my Lebaron appear to be solid.

And please forgive me. I’ve always considered the wheels in question “Rallye Wheels”, but you are quite correct that They are Road Wheels.

In the little research I did, W23 references have changed through the years, with the most notorious being the older, recalled Kelsey Hayes wheels. As far as color goes, notice that Mr C’s brochure picture shows a brown car with “color matched” road wheels. I had assumed that the matching to...

Sometimes you find some really cool stuff with an old car. The Lebaron showed up with all of the original sales paperwork in a custom frame. Also got the original color keyed rally wheels that were ordered with the car! I'm still exploring this one.

18,400 miles on the clock. It seems to be accurate based on the paperwork. WOOHOO!!!

    Introducing New Member: Ambassadorman

R body survivors are few and far between. And AMC's? You gotta pull for the underdog, man! My first love in a car was a neighbor's 71 Matador. 2 dr, 360, manual floor shift. Blue with a white vinyl top. Man I wanted that car! While I despise Renaults, I drove an 88 Eagle Premier ES for 5 years...

That sounds like a great idea! I found a great auto glass and trim place fairly local, and they LOVE the challenge of resealing old classic cars! I do think it's a crap shoot if I show up without at least new door window seals though. Just started looking for them, but no luck yet.

The Mic has a plastic loop attached to it that allows it to hang form the volume or tuning knob. I suspect it spent most of it's time on the tuning knob, as you have to get a "running start" to change stations!

The CB is definitely aftermarket. It's a Motorola unit. My Father put the same unit in the Bradley GT we built when I was 11. In digging through the paperwork I got with the car, the purchase date was after purchase, but prior to delivery, which makes me believe the buyer arranged to have it...

Absolutely LOVING the car! 2 fender tags of options, and I did manage to find the Production Broadcast yesterday! It's beautiful, and just needs a little TLC. To that end, I would greatly appreciate some advice on locating the following parts: Fixed mast AM/FM/CB Antenna Window and T-Top seals...

    Pinstripes : LeBaron vs Cordoba 77 & 79

I wish! 318 Lean Burn. The exhaust is the only aftermarket item on the car, and it hangs way too low behind the axle. I gotta clean that up.

I’ve seen the pinstripes he’s talking about on a Cordoba before. It was a 76 if memory serves.
