    Opinion on Exhaust routing

Here's my 84. I used the A body Jegs dual exhaust kit. I moved my tank over one rib and extended my filler neck by 2" with a spare I had laying around. No problem with the tank not sitting right no hammering needed.

    hei distributer

It may hit the firewall. I run a stock mopar distributor with a 4 pin hei module and a Msd blaster ss e core coil. Easy to change the 4 pin module if needed and plenty of clearance at the firewall.

What exhaust systems are people running?

I'm running A body headers and the Jegs A body dual exhaust kit. I added an H pipe and cutouts also. All 2 1/2".

    Headers for the M?

The headers you posted will fit. And with power steering...... I have the exact pair on my fifth ave. Any questions shoot me a message.

    Headers for the M?

If your on a budget get the cheap summit brand A body headers. Like 130$. I have them on my fifth ave and they fit fine. Use copper gaskets for no leaks, strip the shipping paint off and paint them with bbq paint, use allen head header bolts and put a spark plug sock on the number 6 and 8 plug...

how much power can a 8 1/4 take?

An 8.25 is plenty strong enough. Id say good to around 400 horse. Run what you got while on the lookout for an 8.75.

    De-lean burning

A big hammer tap the edges. Its real heavy you may need a second set of hands to lift it up.

3" single exhaust on 1986 Diplomat?

I actually had an extra one laying around and lengthened mine by 1 1/2". If you don't have access to a welder you could always cut yours in half and just use some 2" fuel rated hose to extend it

    Mopar Ignition

I run an hei ignition. Its super easy to install and cheaper than the mopar ignition. Gm hei 4 pin module, a proform vacumm advace distributor, and a msd blaster ss e core coil. You could also just use a stock vacumm advance distributor.

    Valve Springs

Some people say you can get away with stock spirings. The problem is you may end up with valve float at higher rpms. Use some Comp Cam #901 springs. Its cheap insurance.

    rear ends explained please

You will definitely feel the traction and better takeoff. You can build a 500 horse motor but if you can't put that power to the ground. What's the point.

    rear ends explained please

No need for the expensive price of gear and pinion setup. Takes like an hour to install and all you have to do is remove the spider gears and replace them with the locker. A little clicking won't bother me at all. WELCOME TO POWERTRAX - Powertrax

    rear ends explained please

If your really serious about setting up your own gears, theres tons of information about the chrysler 8.25 from the jeep guys. Instead of buying the tool to set op the side adjustors, you can use a pinion nut welded to pipe or what not. Google is your friend. Against a lot of peoples advice. Im...

3" single exhaust on 1986 Diplomat?

I lot of people have run a canadian catless y pipe and then run a 3" pipe out to the back passenger side. If running headers i would run 2 1/2" duals out to the back. The only problem is the gas tank is offest to the driverside. You can get around that by moving the gas tank over one rib. Thats...

    What is this?

Thats definitely a B body 8.25. I heard somewhere that the earlier B body 8.75s and 8.25s had weird drums that need a special tool to remove.

    Need carb/intake advice

The airgap would work good. As would a Weiand stealth. But like Nocar340 said. No boss for the ac compressor. You can easily resolve that by removing the ac, running a single belt on the front alternator pully and grinding a fin on the watetpump housing slightly. You'll know what i mean if you...

    8.25 vs. 8.75

An 8.25 would be good up to 400-500 horse. I wouldnt drag race it though. Id run the 8.25 an be on the look out for a 8.75. B body 8.75s are getting real hard to find nowdays. Ive been looking for a few years now with no luck. And if i do find one i dont have the cash to shell out.
