First time out of the garage since mid October 2023. Felt SO good behind the wheel again, now that all the salt is FINALLY washed off the roads, and the street sweepers have sucked up all the sand.

That and, 92 and up, you need different axle shafts since they went to that stupid 6x4.5" lug pattern, for some unknown reason......

My '96 Dakota rear is called an 8 3/8" but, to me it looks exactly the same as 8 1/4", aside from the speed sensor. Like a car, the axle is above the springs (4x2 anyway, unsure about 4x4) so the perches are in the right location.

Then there's the weight of a truck V10,,,,,,,approx 830 lbs.

You should be able to get to stock height. One turn of the bolt raises it more than you'd think. Just remember, the left bolt adjust the right side and vice versa. On shocks, can't speak for the KYB Excell but don't recommend the KYB Gas Adjust. Those are WAY too stiff for street use (JMO)...

Asuming all the fuses are good. My 1st guess is the wire from the brake light switch to the turn signal switch is broken, most likely right at the signal switch. The 3rd brake light is powered directly from the brake pedal switch, the other lights go through the turn signal switch and then out...

Sitting for so long with what used to be gas, there's a good chance the sending unit/pick up tube are rusted bad as well. Maybe you'll be lucky, but senders are also available (last I checked), straps available also,,,,,,,if needed.

My parts catalog shows one p/n for "All" and another for Police/Taxi H,N only (Aspen/Volare). Wonder what the actual difference is, and why only F-body Police is different but not M-body Police? Somebody will know I'm sure.
