106 is mild for these parts. No problem, it will probably stay on the car forever now.

I get that, but cost is a big issue. Its not worth $500 to me. I will probably get the plastic made in China rad from my local parts store so I can return it when/if it fails.

I figured direct from China at that price, but that doesn't necessarily mean poor quality. I'm sure the new plastic tank rads are all from China. I could get my rad fixed, but at $250 Id rather replace if possible.

I agree with Duke, if you want modern conveniences, get a modern car. Also cherry 5a's sell for less than 2k around here(southwest) even with shipping you will come ahead, or just drive it home.

How's the choke operation? What jet(s) in the carb? Knowing exactly which carb it is will help with tuning suggestions. Pull #1 and #3 spark plugs and snap a good, well lit picture.
