    Gas Mileage on a Run

I have a ‘79 road runner, 318, Thermoquad, with the Spark Control Computer, and 2:40 gears. I bought this car new, and still own it. If I keep it under 70 mph, so it’s only running on the small primaries, on the highway I can always get 20 mpg on long trips, even managed 23 mpg a couple times on...

    Road Runner question

79 & 80 did not have bird decals. I have read that the deal Chrysler had with Warner Bros. For the character was a 10 year deal, 1968 - 1978. I bought my 79 new, and it didn’t have them, but I put them on. Still have the car 41 years later.

Mopar Vs Brand X Street Car Show Down - Jakes Drag Strip, AL

Those old Tin Indians are pretty cool in my opinion. Some cousins and friends of mine had tri-power Bonnevilles and Grand Prixs back in the 60's and 70's. My sister had a '65 Goat, 389, tri-power 4 speed back in 66-67. I would love to have one of those also!

    Roadtrip

A few years ago, my wife and I went from southern Wisconsin, to Dukes of Hazzard country; Kentucky, Tennessee, and North Carolina. A great trip, Grand Ole Opry, sightseeing, and backroads . Thumbs up from locals, kids hollering, “Do a burn out ! “ (impossible with 2:40 gears). A black on black...

    40 years ago today ....

I think it was all interchangeable with the 360. I’d have to check the service manual, but I’m sure both engines used the same Thermoquad carb.

Beautiful Mirada ! The 318 4bbl in my car came with the California emissions package, which included an air pump. I believe that was the only way to get that engine/carb combination. Also, I think ‘79 was the first year it was available.

Contact BudW who is on this site, he is sharp on the Lean Burn set up.
