Tires are newer... And good point that. If ya ain't got shoes, you can't run.

    Calling on saner heads again...

Last year, I was on the point of getting an M for a daily. Saner heads on this forum (thanks, Duke5A et al), urged me to rethink. Well, likely that save me some trouble, given my commute then was 50 miles round trip. Happily, I am now semi-retired, can walk to my part-time retirement job and...

WANTED Actively looking for the best FMJ I can find

Well, I admit to being a bit miffed by that comment. I stated my price range, and for however much I don't know about cars, I do know it's not 1995. I also know (as you don't seem to) that no FMJ outside the specialty models I listed is realistically priced at $12k, even if it's a 100-point...

WANTED Actively looking for the best FMJ I can find

If you'd read the initial post carefully, I said I would go as high as five figures but know enough about the FMJ market to know even solid examples rarely bring that kind of price. As much as I love them, I don't reckon there's a rank-and-file FMJ (that is, excluding E58s, AHBs, R/Ts and Super...

WANTED Actively looking for the best FMJ I can find

Found an '83 Imperial that has a Magnum swapped in.... Don't like its oversized wheels or tires, but that's small potatoes. Would the modern powerplant make it any more daily driveable? Swapped with a magnum 5.2 with obd2 built 4 speed auto transmission with mustang 8.8 rear end thats also...

Maybe I'll look at a '05-08 Magnum or CV. Sigh. Reality's no fun... I do appreciate the candor.

WANTED Actively looking for the best FMJ I can find

The Spirit R/T is only 15 minutes from me, per owner--has no rust top or bottom and a plethora of refreshing done. It's a 5 speed manual (did they use the Getrags?), which would be fun. i know it's not FMJ, but I'm itching to drive anything that's not Plastic Electronic Trash/Motor Vehicle...

WANTED Actively looking for the best FMJ I can find

Candid, Duke, and I appreciate it. Throughout this process, I've considered all kind of Ma Mopar offerings, from Cs, to As to even (gasp) Ks and their derivatives. I could go for a Dodge 600 or even a same era LeBaron, not to mention Spirit R/Ts and Shelbys. Are parts any better for them? I...

WANTED Actively looking for the best FMJ I can find

Hoping you guys can help me weigh pros and cons with your superior experience. I'm looking at two prospects (with two more on the back burner). One is local to me--an '81 Imp that is largely rust free top and bottom. FI replaced with Edelbrock 4 bll and intake. Could use some hood paint...

    Hunting for prospects

Like most of you, I've perused all sorts of classic car classified sites. Some (topclassiccars) are just playgrounds for scammers listing cars they don't actually own. Craiglist seems to be dying out. Facebook has scads of prospects, but as we all know, the interface is clunky and aggravating...

Not quite certain of this, but I believe we may all be into our last collector cars. I'd reckon the Green movement will end ICE vehicles' legality within a decade.

WANTED Actively looking for the best FMJ I can find

Still looking, folks...I've seen some good prospects, but with the luxury of time, I'm looking for a great prospect. Whatchya got? Broadening the search to A/B/C bodies, though I know those will get me less car for more money... Also a Studebaker/AMC fan to a lesser extent than Mopar.

A testament to the soundness of the designs and Chrysler engineering! I think Sam's wagon looks great. But if I recall his last post correctly, he seems to have plans to pull the four-speed and pop in an automatic. Maybe getting ready to go the BB route?

WANTED Actively looking for the best FMJ I can find

At the risk of boring you all, it occurred to me you may wonder what someone who does not work on cars himself is doing here. A small, quirky symphony of reasons. These care are the ugly ducklings (unless you count K cars) of the Mopar collectible world. I, myself, have ugly duckling elements...

WANTED Actively looking for the best FMJ I can find

Thanks, Lightning, but you know I did message that CA guy, and he's never responded... Taking a guess that a wrecking yard find on the Left Coast would require too much shipping to make it worthwhile unless it were really cherry (in which case, it wouldn't be in a wrecking yard for $1,400).

Heck, if you have show-quality #1, I'd go over the five-figure mark for that! I hope that doesn't sound snooty. I'm no rich guy. But I save my pennies, and I really need to, since I have no gear head skills. Just a good ol' fashioned RN.

WANTED Actively looking for the best FMJ I can find

I believe the prevailing thought around here is that most Ms aren't likely to crack five figures. Ditto most Fs and Js (except the high performance builds, AHBs, E58s and such). But while I believe Gateway Classics has ridiculous pricing (unless there's a Ring of Power in the glove box), I'm...
