    Lean-Burn Conversion

My main issue with the 80 Aspen FHP car was it would run too lean. There is a TINY bit of adjustment on the TQ, but not enough. The spark plugs would turn really white. The other issue was the timing advance during first run didn't work, and that's the computer. I have tons of parts and just...

Like the 25 different ways they have now for putting rear main seals in now so they "won't leak" The web made the abundance of theories and Uncle Jim knowledge a bit overwhelming. Just do what works and ignore the rest

Misfire when light throttle and sparks fouling - Help needed

Thanks for pointing that out. This is definitely a common thing. If you have a vac leak you can't seem to find (anyone with these intakes) try taking the carb off and checking the holes. This is an Edelbroke thing. I have an intake that did this with a big spreadbore Holley and I fixed it with a...

    Well This Sucks!!

I would have two options if I had this right now. My die grinder and a 5 inch tapered (flame shaped tip) burr or the plasma cutter. I think the plasma cutter would fit in there, but kind of may get messy. Die grinder would be no more than 45 seconds per bolt. Either of the two should do nicely...

    Well This Sucks!!

A grinder and burr like you would use for porting cylinder heads. The pointy tip should get in there. But that's only if you have the tools.

what the hell is that noise?

I have seen some wheel vintiques that wont balance unless you put weights 2/3 of the way around the rim. Summit will allow returns, but be careful. I have seen a few like that now. I am not about to buy one just to have to send one or two back after painting them and trying to balance them.

what the hell is that noise?

Tony would have the real (used) ones and not kill you for them. They would obviously fit. If you cant find them locally go to him. I get a ton of used stuff from him. He's not cheap but fair. The Wuhan ones look hokey, they are chrome plated and rust right away.

what the hell is that noise?

Yes, that was an alley repair. It would have been pretty standard to hog the cat out with a long chisel and put standard exhaust pipe in there. It would last for years. As the gentleman mentioned, your exhaust fumes would smell

what the hell is that noise?

Have some decals made "Tragate Mi Polvo" in old english font on the rear window in Old Engrish font. You wont regret it.

    Dome Light Fuse Blowing????

A door switch will not blow a fuse. If it shorts to ground, the light stays on even with the doors closed. It is, by design, the ground leg. They did that for just this reason. A short in this circuit will be BEFORE the load (bulb) and in any accompanying leg of the circuit (tail lamps) and...

Engine stalls when shifted into gear

Nobody can tell what your car is doing from this distance. You should investigate the basics. Is it rich or lean. Is it running on all 8? Does it run bad under all conditions? Otherwise you cannot even tell if it's fuel deliver vs ignition. Tackle the basics before you go unbolting things

does anyone have a spare dome light?

Most of the old OLD ones you will see would have a Dietz number on them. They held the original patent on them. Then everyone started making them after the patent ran up. They are in everything fleet because they are cheap and people with a single digit IQ can install them in seconds on an...

does anyone have a spare dome light?

These are widely available, they go out of production all the time until the shelves start to become bare again. They are in stock all over the place. Local places usually have them, if not you can search the part number. This is Trucklite 80427. They put these in truck cargo compartments, mail...
