    After 4 months, I’ve finally started the teardown on the ‘13 5.7 Hemi that I got. So far it’s just the passenger-side head that’s been pulled off. The closeup shot is of the #2 cylinder.

    And now the Bellhousing and flywheel have arrived. The flywheel is MP P5153593. For now, the project is going to be in a holding pattern because my pickup’s transmission has decided it wants to join the rebuilding party so I need to take care of that first. :/

    It's going to depend on if I go with the 8hp70/Torqueflite 8 or not. I've been kicking the idea around a bit here and there. just wish I could tie the feature in to a Cruise Control switch.

    checking the cam/lifters has been pretty high on the priority list when I started looking at used Hemis. Mine's out of a '13 Chrysler 300 that got rear-ended. The guy was trying to sell me the rest of the front suspension to go with it :D

    Flywheel-type question

    I’ve honestly never thought about this before: Why are some flywheels specified with a Driver-Side or Passenger-Side starter? I thought as long as the teeth match up to the ring gear then it shouldn’t really matter. Here’s a screenshot of what brought my question on:

    To be honest, I can’t remember at this point. I know a couple years ago when I parked it I was having carb issues. I’ll take my time with it and figure something out. I did get a compression tester on it, and it’s got compression at least.
