I masked it off and painted it that way. To me its a little more classy than the full blackout. (I also put early model bumpers on)

Finally got my rear setup and ready. Now I just gotta pick it up and stick it in there and she'll be ready for a small test drive.

If I could figure out how to cut the lens part out and graft them to mine I could probably get it to work.. Im not much of a craftsman in that area though.

Still not much going on but Im still chugging away at a few things. Got the factory column shifter all hooked up and ready. Gotta get my rearend setup , Got the 3.91 gears and sure grip so it wont be long now (till the guy gets a chance to set it up for me anyway). Scored a disc brake setup off...

With the plug wires. I like them without the vacuum pods.

Ive been trying to find out for some time but no luck. If you look at the factory harness for the gauge you can see it in there. Real small inline resistor

The only thing bad about not having the wiring harness is that the resistor for the gauge to read correct is missing. If hooked up it will read too high.

Those are steel blocks...Think really big subframe connectors. I went with manual everything to keep it simple. I dont like the whine and messes associated with most p/s setups. That and I save a few pounds off the front end.

Thought Id update the pics a little bit. It runs now. Yes its too dirty for my liking.

Axle codes arent always on the fender tag. Best place to check is the little tag on the rearend. Or dig for a build sheet

Part of my build sheet has the codes from an 80. I also got an 87 build sheet but its at another location right now. As soon as I get it I will scan it in. Most fender tags dont show the rear axle code

I know the window louvers were not available on the 80 Runners. They all got the 8 spoke wheels also.

Ive got a big block in mine and initial cost they arent really that much more. But since you already got all the work done with the 318 Id stick with it. The 400 is gonna be quite low on compression in stock form and would need some work to where you'll be satisfied. As far as the weight...

Ive got no emblems on it. The only thing you may notice would be the small Plymouth on the grille. Should throw them off enough to not know what it is lol. A Mopar type stripe is needed to give them just a little more hint of whats going on

Im thinking of some sort of stripe but havent decided on color or type yet. Without the roof rack or upper door trim it will look too plain without a little something. Maybe a white stripe
