    Hood Scoop ??.⁶

Thanks for the positive response. I really like the look myself. Had the same scoop on my race car, (Charger) , in the 70's. That one was sealed to the hood , but we'll see where this one goes. Racing "Super Stock " on weekends was long ago! LOL!!!

Gave that some thought. Haven't quite figured it out yet. Right now just admiring how good it came out.

    Hood Scoop ??.⁶

9SECRR , Thank you for the pictures and the great advice. The whole project went well thanks to you telling me to not worry about the reinforcements. I didn't expect the engine center to be slightly right and I'm still not sold on moulding tape holding it on , but we'll see what happens. Again...

    Hood Scoop ??.⁶

I'm intending to spend tomorrow installing a "Ramchargers Hood Scoop" on my 79 Aspen RT. I recently noticed a rather elaborate network of bracing on the bottom of the hood near wear the hole has to be cut. Is there anything I need to know or watch out for? Obviously body work is not my strong...

1988 Chrysler 5th all original Surging Help Please

You didn't mention which engine you have. The carburetors are completely different between them. I do remember my time in a Dodge dealer that Carter BBDs on 318s were notorious for this issue and repaired by Richening the metering rods, adjusting them slightly higher. Consult your service...

    360 Oil Filters ?

Headers are "Flow Tech" from holley.

    360 Oil Filters ?

I believe the 3.66" number refers to the filter diameter, same as the Mopar filter. That's where the problem is getting it in. Need smaller diameter, length is less critical. Everything else seems fine. Thankyou !!!

    360 Oil Filters ?

First off thankyou to everyone for your responses and advice. One of the first posts mentioned a Fram #PH3600. I'm not a big fan of Fram, but having Wal-Mart close by it seemed like a safe gamble for $4.00. Fit fine and now I have a good place to start. I also liked the later post about a...

    360 Oil Filters ?

The filter boss is still OE and perpendicular to the block. Truth be known though the filter won't clear the header tubes to get anywhere near it. If it would there'd be plenty of room to attach it.

    360 Oil Filters ?

I recently got the 360 off my engine stand and installed in my 79 Aspen RT. The instructions supplied with the new headers say to remove the oil filter for installation clearance. Seemed simple enough until tried to install one. The Mopar Oil Filter at 3 1/2 " diameter won't fit between the...

    Aspen RT coming soon.

Alright guys and gals, as promised some updates and photos of progress. Rear axle and suspension is in. Interior is complete and I spent today installing the fresh 360.727 trans goes in tomorrow and should be in motion soon !(I hope !) Still need to measure and source a driveshaft to tie it all...

    Swap sears to buckets.

Okay gentlemen , as promised here's the solution. 1&1/4 box tubing available at "Home Depot" , 1&1/4 square furniture leg finishers available at any hardware store as well as plain old 5/16 " nuts and bolts to hold it all together. 1 bracket stacked for the passenger side to allow for the floor...

Sounds like a plan , but don't overlook the spool valve adjustment since it appears to always go right.

    Also ..maybe alighment

With your description of "Wheel going full lock right" I suspect there may be a power steering issue. Try sitting still with the wheel straight ahead and start the engine. Blip the throttle a few times and watch the steering wheel for small motions right. If so there may be a spool valve...

    Swap sears to buckets.

Thankyou for the consideration and I'll let you know if and how this all comes out. I think I have a viable plan of attack , but I guess we'll soon see. Again thanks for the help !!

    Swap sears to buckets.

Have done the measurements as you described and I agree that the Rt seat will determine the installed height. If my measurements are correct I believe I'll need 3 brackets at 2 1/2 " height to level everything and have the same height from L/F to R/F. Thank you for the input !

    Swap sears to buckets.

    Then don't !!!!

    Swap sears to buckets.

The seats aren't OE, just have slide adjusters and tilt hinges. Bottoms appear to be flat and intended for a uniform, flat floor panel. Thinking maybe 1 1/4 " box tubing to make leveling brackets.

    Swap sears to buckets.

I bought 2 high back style "bucket seats" for my 79 Aspen 2 Dr. Upon removal of the OEM bench seat I found that the floor pans on both sides are not the same height. Apparently the mounting for the OE bench had corrected for this with only outside mounting points. I believe I can make the...
