Wanted to post this here for you guys. Came out pretty good for a free-hand on computer paper and a good old click style mechanical pencil!

Wipped this up yesterday sitting around the house bored. Done on a piece of 8.5"x11" computer paper. All done free hand by yours truly lol ;)

I did the carb before the muffler. I do feel the muffler was a big part, alot of crud came out when he cut it out of the car. The carb was the starting issue in the morning, but the restricted exhaust was pretty plugged causing most of the driveability and dieseling issues. The old carb had worn...

So an update for anyone watching... I swapped out the BBD that was on the car when we got it with a fresh one that has new throttle bushings, and had the exhaust shop replace the muffler for me. Between the two I have got AMAZING results! I can start it with just two pumps and a tap of the key...

it is illegal, but there is a huge number of people who do remove/ hollow out thier cats. I have even seen cars pass smogg under these conditions lol. No cat is better than a bad one I suppose, then like the golf that I own, had a hollow cat under it and wouldnt even get close to passing lol.
