Hello friends
Here we have a 1981 Dodge Dart Wagon. We all know this as a Diplomat wagon.
A little note on the name. The dart name was used on this car, the Aspen/Volare cars, the K cars that came after these and a few more models.
I recently learned that the car companies were only allowed to sell 3 models at any one time, by law.
I think this is the reason so many different cars were called Dart in Mexico. This way they could actually sell different cars under the same name and offer choices other car companies didn't have.
Under the hood is a 225 slant 6 linked to a 3 speed manual transmission, we loving call 3 on the tree.
Who remembers the full mirrors we all put in the cars back in the '80's? This car has one. It must be an antique by now.
The odometer shows 42,906 KM (26,660 Miles) but even if it is 142,906 KM (88,797 Miles).
The color is interesting. I haven't seen many like this.
The interior features a red cloth bench which may or may not go with the color of the exterior. You can decide for yourself.
The wheels look like a chromed version of the Chrysler Rally wheel. All four center caps are present but they wheels do need some clean up work.
This car has the fender mounted turn signals, which all cars should have.
If there is any rust on this car it would be very little.
Wagons are where it is at. If you were really ambitious, being it is a factory stick shift car, you could swap out the drivetrain and put in a big V8 with a 4 or 5 speed manual. That would be cool.
Here is the break down on the cost of the vehicle. The car itself will be $5,705 dollars. Transport from where it is to the Nogales Arizona border $950 dollars for a total of $6,655.
Lately the exchange rate has been all over the place so please ask for an up to date price.
If you have any questions about the importation process, please ask me.
* We are almost ready to offer US delivery *
I know the thought of buying from Mexico makes people nervous.
I can provide references from my previous clients if necessary.
