1989 Chrysler Fifth Avenue Base - Abandoned / Forfeited Vehicle - GovDeals.com

Apparently this poor thing was abandoned. Claimed to not run, not too sure about anything else. There's 2 days left on the auction, and it's only 200 bucks. If I only had more space.......could be turned into a cool beater/sleeper.

Like a lot of us! That is how I have wound up with so many parts for OY. Can't pass them up when I find them for the right price. Now, if I just had the time to actually WORK on it!! :(

Yeah I'd love to snatch it, and it's close to me as well. But since I'm acquiring 2 massive projects here soon and I'll be dumping a ton of money into my current 5th to get the paint professionally detailed and looking better than ever, I just don't have the means to make another 5th, especially one of this shape, into what I would want to make it into. Hopefully it'll find a good home.

strip off all the reusable re-sellable parts and trim. Load your unusable etc in the shell swap bald tires Have the JY haul it away and they'll probably pay at least $300 on top of it.

I'm a year late on this one here, but I'm hoping it went somewhere good. I read somewhere that 88s and 89s had galvanized steel underneath, or something of the sort to prevent rust better than the earlier ones. It might be true - my 88 was sitting on a guy's property out on the grass for years before I got it, and rust isn't really an issue. The pictures here make it look like a bit of luck and maybe $800 could get it going again. (Assuming the reason it won't run isn't a major issue, and then some cash to bring back the body to a decent state.)

My experience has been the 89s are awful for rusting through. Not enough paint or primer.

Definitely not enough paint or primer... the paint on the hood and roof for my car is all deteriorated. Probably doesn't help when the car is an NJ car all its life, and it will continue to be one, since I live in NJ. The salt and snow just destroys it.
