I converted my 1986 Fifth Ave. to a Magnum 318 which is fuel injected. I have driven it around with the distance speed sensor on the transmission not connected and so far it has been fine, but wanted to see if I could connect it. I am using a 1992-93 Dodge Dakota ECM. I have the adaptor for the long shaft speedometer gear, which the distance sensor screws onto, but have only been able to find 24 and higher count long shaft gears. Were 23 teeth long shaft gears ever made? Also, will the older style fit in the current tail housing? I currently have the 23 tooth plastic one that came with the car. I was hoping to remove the cruise control as it’s not hooked up anyway, and put in a one piece speedometer cable.
