OK, everything I own leaks trans fluid. I went into a well rep trans shop today to get an idea of the cost to do a front seal on a 904. The shop guy seemed ok, but thought that the seal was not the problem, but the drum/ pump O ring.. Also, he said there was a puke hole (never heard of this) for when the fluid gets too hot. So ball park price was 600 bucks. That is the shop dropping the trans out of the car, labor and parts. His worry was that the trans was leaking because the car did not get much use. No argument there. I think he can do better on the price, but I know this shop is a stand by their work type of shop.

Any thoughts. I'd do it myself, but I'm breaking a lot of stuff lately. Everything I wrench on, infact.

I think a good shop would have no more than 4 hrs labor involved.
