I saw a trashed 1st gen viper on craigslist and thought how extensive would it be to swap the motor and possible trans into the doba? That would be a site to see.
 
It must be done! The length of a slant 6 has to be really close to that of the V10, if not longer. The back of the V10 is just a 318 magnum with 2 guest. Get it and get wrenching!
 
I measured a 96 Ram V10, and it was only slightly longer than the slant six. You might have to mount the radiator, or at least the fans in front of the core support. Otherwise, it should fit with only minor mods. The trans might present some clearance issues, but it shouldn't be too bad. That would be an awesome build!
 
So if I wanted to, I could always keep it automatic. I'd would just have to find a torque converter that would work with it.
 
Someone reached out and hit me in the head with numbers of 32 inches for the length of the slant and wait for it.......... 36 inches for the V10 length. So the V10 is actually longer than the slant by 4 inches
 
A true 727 should be able to handle what that V10 puts out, right?
