Since the last thread on the connectors is over 4+ years old now, I figured I’d start a new one since I think I have a different idea than the original thread.

I got some 2x2 square tubing from the metal supplier, and I’m thinking of extending my connectors to where I have my prybar pointing at in each photo instead of stopping at the frame rails. Or should I just run them to the traditional spots?

Don't overthink it. As it is it's going to be the most structurally rigid piece of the car. No reason to go through the floor either on just a street car.

True, but this car will be seeing the track as well.

And right after I had made the thread I stumbled back upon your’s and looked over the photos more closely.

Even still. Extending the ties beyond the 4" slots above isn't going to do anything. Next up you're looking at going through the floor and after that a cage. If you plan on going this level then that's outside my wheelhouse.

How fast you plan on going?

I ran mine through the floor (2x2 tubing). With the carpet, you can't really tell from inside the car. They only intrude in the rear footwells about 1/2". My thought is, with the floor welded to each side of the connnector, it'll be a little stiffer. Plus, they don't hang down as low.

I don’t plan on putting them through the floor that much. About what Aspen’s described is as much as I wanna do. I’d like to make the bottom of the connectors match the factory frame rails.

Speedwise: it’s not the 1/4 mile times that I’m after. To be honest *shrugs* as fast as it’ll go until I wanna back off the gas, or a braking point at a road course.
