Hello All,

The transmission I'm installing in my '88 AHB (318), came from a '95 Dakota (5.2L Magnum). The following items were included with the transmission; shift linkage (column), TV cable, rear transmission mount and a bracket. On the '95 Dakota the TV cable connected to the passenger side of the Throttle Body Injector (TBI) housing. In my case it will connect to the drivers side of the Holley carb. As a side note, I have the original 904 transmission rod, if that is an option to replace the TV cable (although I'd prefer to use a TV cable).

So, for those of you that have been down this path before ... how did you route the TV cable across the transmission / bellhousing? The cable can be 'massaged' to change the routing with a heat gun using a moderate amount of heat, so that is not an issue. What I am also trying to understand is where the TV cable secured to the transmission. For example, the bracket that came with the transmission (see picture below; Transmission Bracket 1), appears to make use of the bell housing bolts for the starter. It has clips for the cooler lines (??) along with a snap ring for either the TV cable or electrical cable (neutral / reverse and TC lockup). Last but not least, there are two identical brackets (see pictures below; Transmission Brackets 2 and 3), bolted to the transmission that could also be used for mounts.

Any insight you may have would be appreciated.
