Hello All,

I'm looking for the either the wiring harness with the connectors or the connectors with short lengths of wire. Picture below for clarity. The 'reverse/neutral' connector is a 3 pin female and the 'lock-up' connector is also a 3 pin female. As far as I know neither connector is available as a spare part or as an aftermarket item. Appreciate any feedback or workarounds you may have.

The round neutral safety switch plug is the same as the old ones and is readily available. It looks like most of the transmission parts places sell the other one. Performance and cope come up when you google it.

Hello 80Mirada, Mikes5thAve,

Many thanks for the quick replies.

Doh!!! Feel like such an idiot, I assumed the 'reverse / neutral' switch and connector on my '88 904 would be different from the '95 A518 I have. Never even thought to check!! Checked RockAuto and they do stock the switch as well as the connector - never thought to look for the connector on their site. Pity they don't stock the connector for the torque convertor lock-up.

80Mirada - I was aware of the bits that PATC carries. They have a three pin connector that will work with the existing 'torque convertor lock-up' electrical fitting in the A518. Apparently it isn't an exact fit but easily modified. Plus they carry speedometer gears one of which I will need due to the swap from 2.94 to 3.55 rear gear.

Is that a Weathertight style connector???

If so, you are actually in a pretty good shape because you can get these in the aftermarket in basicaly any counts of connector pins.

Just do a few online searches for what that connector style looks like, but basically it has a 'built-in' rubber insulating ring into the connector casing so that no moisture etc. impacts the connectors themselves.

I needed to look this up so that I could get my swap-meet MSD 6ALN box (MP actually, part# P4876729, but that was made by MSD for them) ready to wire up to the rest of the harness.

Hello M_Body_Coupe,

Appreciate the feedback.

Finding nice automotive electrical connectors is always a challenge - unless you but one of those 'kits' via Eastwood or the Chinese knock offs via Amazon. Yes, the connector supplied by PATC (see URL below as well as picture), is a 'Weather-Tight' style connector. Along with a little dielectric grease it should work OK for the torque convertor lock-up connection.

Lucky you - your Mopar electronic ignition module is a collectors item as it is no longer available. :)

Ohhh...hold that thought, I should have actually pointed to the connector I picked up for my intended use, which is an Allstar part => 6-Wire Weather Pack Connector Kit ALL76270

Now even better, here is a link to their 3-pin setup => 3-Wire Weather Pack Connector Kit ALL76267

Hey...$8.79 price beats PATC's $23, and I think the different here may be the round vs square pin. Round is what the Allstar stuff has.

Hello M_Body_Coupe,

Sure, get my hopes up with an inexpensive alternative!! :) Allstar Performance only ships to US addresses. :-( I've run into that issue with a few US suppliers.

Unless I find something on Amazon or NAPA (long shot), it will end up being the PATC item.

Sure...but SummitRacing will ship to you directly!!!...and you can certainly get Allstar stuff through them => Allstar Performance ALL76267 Allstar Performance Weatherpack Connectors | Summit Racing

For what it's worth: I've been buying stuff from Summit for at least 20 yrs now...lol, hard to believe how quickly that time goes by, but I do live in Windsor, ON, right across the border from Detroit, MI...so if you ever are trully stuck on getting something out of US drop me a PM...I've got a US mailbox we can ship to, the only additional expense is in me picking this up ($6 a pop LOL, as in each box...can get suprirising expensive when Summit decides to be helpful and sends your order out in multiple ASAP packages)!

Hello M_Body_Coupe,

Apologies in advance for my verbose post.

I must say your are persistent and generous - thank you for your offer to make use of your US mailbox. My brother lives in Erieau and my nephew in LaSalle - they share a Detroit mailbox that I can use as needed (I've only used it once). Added bonus is that my nephew works in Detroit so he is crossing the border everyday (soon via the Gordie Howe bridge :).

Can't say I've been a Summit customer for that long - maybe 6 years. I was living in Europe for many years so my 'car focus' was on European stuff. :) I believe I shared with you some time ago that I grew up in Windsor, Riverside actually. Attended high school there.

I digress, the only 'US' items I still need to purchase for my project total about $400 USD. Two items from Hughes (distributor gear plus shaft / cam snout [for fuel pump]) and two from PATC (speedo gear / 3 pin connector). I'll probably order those just ahead of our next trip to Florida to visit family (April or May). Next week I will start on the engine teardown and rebuild. :)

As always, appreciate your wisdom and long distance friendship. If you are ever in beautiful NS, your will be more than welcome. Next trip to ON I'll make the effort to drop by.
