Anyone willing to have me mail them some cash?

My 1984 Fifth Avenue is missing the quadrant and rod from its right rear door lock mechanism. To clarify, it's the rod with the pop up button for locking and unlocking the door, and the plastic quadrant it attaches to. Is there anybody here who has these, and is anyone willing to mail them to me? I will of course prepay the costs of the parts and shipping to the UK. Last time I did this I simply mailed some dollars tucked in a greeting card.
Not perfect, but many USA vendors want crazy money for shipping. I want a hood ornament retainer for my 1998 Buick Avenue as well. The part sells for around $15.00, weighs 0.6 of an ounce, and to have it shipped would cost me $128.00.

TIA,
Roger.

You can use a third party shipper that isn't one of the "big names" (Fed-Ex, UPS, DHL, Post Offices) and save a lot of money. I have sent shipments overseas (from Canada) and saved over 50% (60-70% in most cases); I used a company called Aramex, but they are not the only one, and I don't know if they are the cheapest. There will be other such services in various countries around the world, I just don't know what they are in the US or UK.

Don't send cash through the post under any circumstances. You can do email transfers (Paypal and others), most of the time through your bank, or you can go to the bank and make an international bank transfer, or even an international money order (either through a bank or through post offices in most countries). At least these transfer methods will have the basic security of having somebody's name on them, and they will also be traceable. Cash is not.

If you know of one in the US, I can ship it to you or bring it on my luggage when I am in UK. I don't have one though

There is a 5A in the local pick 'n pull. I'm not making any promises, but is there anything you think you'd need? Small things.

Thanks guys. I have sourced one from connecticutautoparts.com. They are charging me $27.00 for the part and $20.00 international shipping, paid via PayPal. I found them very helpful and will almost certainly use them again for sourcing hard to find parts.
I gave one to a friend who has access to a 3D printer, he reckons it will take about 16 hours to scan it, but once it's done can knock them out for pennies. I've asked him to go ahead to see if it will work in my car.
With reference to my first post on this thread, someone on the PontiacBonnevilleclub.com forum has agreed to ship me the part I need for my Buick. I'll let you know if it works out well. Even if I just get ripped off I'll only be out a few dollars, I can stand that kind of loss.

Roger.

I get medication from London. I can't believe how fast it clears customs and gets here. I have packages going in circles for weeks in Houston and Chicago......
