I don't know where to start with all the things I've been through since June 18th.
In spite of how it feels in my head and my heart, its become very apparent I'm going to survive my husband's death.
I'll unpack details as time goes by, I'm sure, but since the weather is now getting cooler and I'm no longer paralyzed with sadness, it is past time for me to get back to my cars. Which means, you folks will be reading more about both the 5th Avenue and the LeBaron. Neither has run in over 2 years, and the LeBaron still has that rat damaged wiring to be reworked, so this will be a startover on each of them. (Sarcasm to follow) Fortunately, both cars were left with full tanks of ethanol gas in them when I stopped work on them so I'll have to deal with lots of issues I'm sure.
During the past two weeks, I did a 3,000 mile car trip all the way to Illinois and Ohio to visit his two brothers and assorted nephews, great-nephews. Also managed to meet DarthCar and his wife while I attended his son's wedding. Kinda a bittersweet event, nice wedding but I sure did miss having my life partner to dance with. DarthCar's wife loaned me her husband for a dance, which was very thoughtful.
I managed to get strep throat at the end of my trip which made the last 12 hours of driving pure h-e-double toothpicks. But as with everything else this year, I'm going to survive that as well.
Like always, the weatherfolks are teasing that there will be rain here next week. No matter, I need to get my gameplan together on getting things running again.
Have a Tuesday vet visit for the barncat that showed up here not too long after I started my road trip. Cross your fingers that she prefers killing mice/rats rather than frogs..
Missed you guys....
