We are all loaded up. Eve is on the trailer. Trunk load of spare parts. Gator supplying the towing and Gator's Dad keeping us from going to jail.

So it is BUST after all. Met some great folks - who helped put the Eve back on the trailer

That Launch was not my hardest, but hard enough. The snap of the axle heard across the track. So hard the rearview mirror came off the windshield.

Fun did not end there. As we trailered home one of the straps broke and if it wasn't for a dude broke down on the road we would have lost the car off the trailer for sure.. If we had another 8 1/4 axle - there would have been a few more runs down the track. So my record is now two 7 1/4 destroyed, 1 8 1/4, one 8 3/4 and now another 8 1/4...... I am some kind of idiot or what?

Mace BattleHammer.. if we had another axle in the swappmeet area, we would be back down the track a few more times

what was that quote in the Outlaw Josey Wales speghetti western... talking bout the rock candy:
Its not for eating, its just for looking through.

Maybe yours is:
Its not for drivin, its just for looking at.

I admire your persistence and look forward to hearing/seeing the results when the runs have more success.

Eve looks awesome either way.

For the most part - the axles in an 8-3/4 and Dana 60 are the same (as well as the yoke).
Now every else between the two is a different story.

When you said you broke your 8-3/4 - how bad?

It sounds like time for custom axle shafts - than it does a differential change.

Nope... Never...... It is meant for driving, thrashing, and ripping asphalt.

This time was the 8 1/4....

I have a nice 8 3/4 out of a 67 GTX with 4 :10 gears and sure grip. Just needs the chunk freshed up and the axle seals and bearing replaced And it has 11 inch drums I think
