Well, we found that the floor around the outer rear seat belt (right side) bolt rusted out......its goofy....the metal right AROUND the plate, save for a quarter inch border, is perfect....still body color etc....that is looking at it from the wheel well too.

Does anyone know if there is any sort of patch produced for this area?

I am guessing not, so I guess the fix is either find a donor car with that area in tact , cut it out and weld it in....or build something from scratch...

Since it is where a seat belt mounts we want to be sure to do it right

Any guidance or ideas from those who have on through this?

Rust sucks.

Anytime there's double, or more, layers spot welded together, it's a magnet for rust. I live in Wisconsin and know all too well that rust sucks!
I repaired one side on my car by cutting out the rusted area and then welding in a sheet metal patch. Then made a copy of the original plate from 1/8" (?) steel and welded a nut to it, then welded that to the sheet metal patch. I can't remember anybody ever sitting in the backseat in the 33 years I've owned the car and nobody probably ever will but,,,,,,,,,,,,,just in case, the belts are there.:):)
