i'm thinking of putting my name down for the next batch. just wondering if it is worth the wait and cost?
Hmm...so I will provide my feedback, but take into account both MY starting point, that being: a completely rebuilt suspension, with various HD goodies (11/16" tie-rods, KONI adjustable shocks, lowered power steerign PSI on the pump, Borgeson steering gear, the factory 1-1/8" front sway bar, the big MP 1" rear sway bar, POLY K-frame to chassis bushings, etc.), and the inherent unconcious bias of what my daily driver does: 2020 Subaru STI with tuned sports suspension (HD bars, aftermarket links, etc.) - I mean that thing geneuinely handles like "it is on rails"!!!
So back to Mopar land, I upgraded to the FF 1.250" diameter bar, that being 300 lbs spring rate (TBKFMJ14).
My first initial "ride out" I was a bit dissappointed, the front end still seemed to float, at least compared to what I was used to (and the problem here is that "used to" really meant a combo of my Subie and how I remembered my Mopar to ride - ahem float - before the upgrade).
So I stepped back. I looked at my KONI setups, now I could firm them up b/c the t-bars were capable of better controlling the chassis movement. BAAAM!!!
Idea being...suspension takes tuning effort, just like the rest of what makes up our rides. If there is one thing I had learned over the years is that very few, if any, of the aftermarket parts are literally a drop-in fix.
Food for thought: my Subie suspension...upgrading to the big sway bars, both front and rear, had me taking stuff apart and re-assembling using different sway bar attaching points no less than three separate times to get the chassis dialed in "just right"...LOL!
FINAL answer: would I do this again? YUP, but I would be a tad more realistic about what to expect.
